Jules Pascovitch

The Jules Pascovitch collection includes several evocative images of war photography. A Jewish photographer, Pascovitch was born 1914, in Leeds. He grew up in Zimbabwe where he worked as an engineer. During the war in North Africa, he was stationed at a British hospital in Cairo. After moving to Rhodesia, he spent time working as a crime photographer, and moved away after Mugabe came into power.  This collection includes photographs of Rhodesia in the 1980s during the war, with images of terrorist attacks on petrol refineries and group photographs of the Rhodesian police. His other work as a medical photographer is also documented, with photographs of medical students in class at Groote Schuur present within the collection. 1234111213►...
