The Durban collection contains eight images of the Jewish community and their presence within Durban, from a photograph of the laying of the St Andrews Synagogue foundation stone (1903), to one of the canteen within the Durban Jewish Club in the 1940s. Of special interest is the photograph including the Duke and Duchess of Connaught, taken during the visit of their Royal Highnesses to open the first Union parliament in 1910.
